Oil and gas website with industry data

We rebuilt a corporate website for an oil and gas company, combining a supplied design with custom WordPress development and external industry data.

The work extended beyond implementing page layouts. News feeds and charts had to fit into the design, while the company’s own content needed to remain editable. We brought these requirements together in a website the client’s team could maintain after handover.

About client

The client operates in the oil and gas sector and uses its website to introduce the business to prospective partners. The site presents corporate information alongside news and data relevant to the industry.

The company needed a professional presentation of its business and practical control over the material it published.

About project

The previous website had become dated and did not display consistently on mobile devices. It also lacked the integrations needed to include external industry information.

The client supplied an updated design as the starting point for the rebuild. Our role was to translate that design into a functioning website, connecting the page layouts to WordPress and incorporating third‑party content.

Request

The client wanted close visual fidelity to the supplied mockups, industry news and charts within the site, and an admin panel its team could use independently.

Development proceeded from the designs without a separate technical specification. Requirements continued to evolve during the build, so the implementation also had to accommodate more complex replacements for some originally planned elements.

Tools

We used WordPress with custom blocks to connect the supplied layouts to editable content. This gave the client a way to update corporate material within the website’s established page structure.

External integrations supplied industry news and charts, adding sector‑specific information alongside the company’s own pages.

WordPress

Team

Our project manager and developers handled technical delivery and worked directly with the client as requirements evolved.

What we did

We built the page layouts as custom WordPress blocks and adapted them for different screen sizes. The supplied design guided the implementation, including how content was arranged and presented across the site.

A substantial part of the work involved integrating external industry content. News and chart components needed to sit within the corporate design, so we incorporated them into the page structure and adapted their presentation to the surrounding layouts.

The scope changed during development. Some initially planned elements were replaced with more complex components, requiring us to revisit the affected parts of the build. We implemented those changes alongside the remaining work, keeping the supplied design as the visual reference.

We also configured the editing interface so the client’s team could manage its own content after handover.

Result

The rebuilt website presents corporate information, industry news and charts in one place. Its responsive layouts address the mobile display problems of the previous site, while the custom WordPress blocks make corporate content editable by the client’s team.

The handover included both the finished website and the content management setup needed to maintain it. The company can update its own material internally, with the requested external data integrations already incorporated into the site.
